Ashlea R. Goines
partner
Colorado Springs Probate and Estate Planning Attorney
Education
Ashlea graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She was a scholarship Track & Field athlete all four years, and upon graduation, she received awards for being among the highest-ranking students in both the Political Science and Athletic departments. In 2009, Ashlea graduated from Baylor University School of Law with honors. Not only did she get an outstanding education at Baylor, but she also met and married the love of her life, Tim, a fellow Baylor Lawyer.
Experience
After law school graduation, Tim’s military career took the family from Texas to Florida. In early 2010, Ashlea began working as an Associate Attorney with the Law Offices of Richard D Green in Clearwater, Florida. The firm handled estate planning, probate, guardianship, and real estate matters. Early on, Ashlea realized she had found her calling working with the elderly and those whose lives had been impacted by death and disability.
Finding Home in Colorado Springs
After a number of years in Florida, the Goines family began a series of three cross-country moves in a three-year period, eventually landing permanently in Colorado Springs. In 2017, Ashlea waived into the Colorado Bar using the military spouse rule (Colo. R. Civ. P. 204.4), and in 2018, Ashlea fulfilled a lifelong dream when she founded Goines Law. Finally confident the military moves were over, Ashlea became a full member of the Colorado Bar in 2022.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Throughout her 16-year career, Ashlea has practiced exclusively in the areas of estate and business planning, probate, and guardianship law. Ashlea manages the estate planning and guardianship practices at Goines Law and has a knack for helping clients develop creative estate planning strategies, particularly those clients with complex family dynamics. At the forefront of her approach to the estate planning process is a desire to maintain relationships among children and family members long-term, and she truly has a heart for helping special needs families navigate the lifelong legal challenges that come along with raising a child with special needs.
