Education
Tim graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He was a four-year Air Force ROTC cadet, and upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, serving as an analyst for the Air Force. In 2006, Tim applied to go to law school and enter the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps and was accepted. In 2009, Tim graduated from Baylor University School of Law with honors. Not only did he get an outstanding education at Baylor, but he also met and married the love of his life, Ashlea, a fellow Baylor Lawyer.
Experience
After law school graduation, Tim served in a number of assignments throughout the JAG Corps, including as a military prosecutor, a defense attorney, a Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, before finishing his career as an Associate Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy. Throughout his career, Tim had a passion for helping service members, and he was particularly fond of drafting estate planning documents for his clients.
Finding Home in Colorado Springs
After a number of years in Florida, the Goines family began a series of three cross-country moves in a three-year period, eventually landing permanently in Colorado Springs. Confident that Colorado Springs would be their final duty station, Tim became a member of the Colorado Bar in 2024. Tim retired from active duty in August 2025, after serving over 21 years in the United States Air Force. He was then able to pursue his dream of working with Ashlea at Goines Law.
