Colorado Springs Probate and Estate Planning Attorney

Education

Tim graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He was a four-year Air Force ROTC cadet, and upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, serving as an analyst for the Air Force. In 2006, Tim was selected to go to law school and enter the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. In 2009, Tim graduated from Baylor University School of Law with honors. Not only did he get an outstanding education at Baylor, but he also met and married the love of his life, Ashlea, a fellow Baylor Lawyer.

Experience

After law school graduation, Tim served in a number of assignments throughout the JAG Corps, including as a military prosecutor, a defense attorney, and a Deputy Staff Judge Advocate. In 2016, Tim received his Master of Laws degree (in Cyber, Space, and Telecommunications Law) and was assigned to be a professor at the United States Air Force Academy. Shortly after arriving at the Academy, Tim was selected to serve as a Senior Military Faculty member (a long-term military faculty member), a position in which Tim would serve for nine years. He finished his career as the Department Head and Associate Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy.

The next chapter

Throughout his career, Tim had a passion for helping service members, and he was particularly fond of drafting estate planning documents for his clients. Fortunately, this was a passion for Ashlea as well. After Ashlea founded Goines Law in 2018, the two started planning for life after the military, and Tim became a member of the Colorado Bar in 2024. In the summer of 2025, Tim retired from active duty after serving over 21 years in the United States Air Force. He was then able to pursue his dream of working with Ashlea and practicing in estate planning at Goines Law.
